Sofia Wroblewski made history in 2024, becoming Quick Track Club’s first-ever individual National Champion- twice!
Her incredible journey began on February 11, 2024, at the AAU 14U Indoor National Championships in Michigan, where she claimed her first national title in the 3000m. She followed that up with a dominant, undefeated outdoor season, culminating in another 3000m victory at the USATF Junior Olympic National Championships on July 23, 2024, in College Station, Texas, with a time of 10:34.9.
But Sofia wasn’t done yet. When track season ended, she turned her focus to leading her team to nationals. On December 14, 2024, Sofia and her teammates in the 11-12 girls division faced off against 27 teams from across the country at the USATF Youth Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships- and they emerged as National Champions!
With three national titles in one year, Sofia has cemented her place in Quick Track Club history. Congratulations, Sofia!
With returners Sofia Wroblewski, Kiyomi Fuertes, Alexa Wroblewski, Juliet Siapin, Ella Haneishi, Sophia Braun, Lauren Cherry, and newcomer Gemma Wagener, we knew from the start- this team was going to be something special.
They set the tone early at the OC Grit Invite, dominating with a team score of 21 points, placing 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 8th. At the Valley United Invite, they impressed again, finishing 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 9th- with just a 23-second spread between their top five runners! The momentum continued in Santa Ana, where they placed 1st, 2nd, 6th, 8th, and 9th, followed by another dominant performance at the Free Spirit Invite at Mt. SAC (1st, 3rd, 6th, 9th, and 10th).
Looking for a bigger challenge, the team competed at the Cal State Fullerton John Elder Invitational against college teams! They rose to the occasion, finishing 7th, 8th, 13th, 17th, and 20th, securing 2nd place in team scoring. Just two days later, they showed no signs of slowing down, winning the LA Jets Invitational with another commanding performance (1st, 2nd, 5th, 7th, and 12th).
At the SoCal USATF Junior Olympic Championships, we made a bold move, splitting our runners evenly to give all 13 of our 11-12 division girls a shot at qualifying. The strategy paid off, with our teams finishing 4th and 6th, sending eight runners to Regionals (all qualifying as individuals as well).
Fueled by determination, the team headed to the Region 15 USATF Junior Olympic Championships ready to prove themselves. They did just that, delivering a dominant 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 9th finish, scoring 22 points to win the Regional Title and secure their spot at Nationals!
At the USATF Junior Olympic National Championships, they finished the season the only way they knew how- on top. Kiyomi Fuertes (11th), Sofia Wroblewski (16th), Alexa Wroblewski (28th), Juliet Siapin (34th), and Ella Haneishi (35th) ran an incredible race to bring home the GOLD and claim Quick Track Club’s first-ever National Championship team title!
Congratulations to our 11-12 Girls- National Champions!
