On Sunday, February 17, 2025, at Fullerton High School, 7-year-old Taylor Sojourn, set a new world record for 7 year olds in the 3000m run with an incredible time of 12:40.36. She shattered the previous record of 13:02.40, set by Mia Hobeika of Dubai in 2022.
Taylor, a resident of Anaheim, and student at Crescent Elementary School (Orange Unified School District) has been a member of Quick Track Club since February 2024. In 2024, she competed in eight cross-country races for Quick Track Club, including the USATF Junior Olympic National Championships, where she placed 30th individually, contributing to her team’s impressive 5th-place finish in the 7-8 division.
On February 23, 2025, 11-year-old Sam Weinraub made history, running the fastest 8K ever recorded by someone his age. Competing in the challenging Brea 8K, a notoriously hilly course, Sam posted an incredible time of 27:40—averaging a 5:32 per mile pace. This remarkable achievement sets a new benchmark for young runners and showcases Sam’s extraordinary talent and dedication to the sport.
On March 8, 2025, at the Occidental College Distance Carnival & Spring Break Classic 11 year old Samuel Weinraub became the fastest 11 year old to ever run a 10K in Track & Field. His time of 33:52.76. broke the old record of 35:42.1, which stood since 2012!
